Our goal as a music/worship ministry is to bring glory to Jesus through music. Like everything else in creation, music was created to bring glory to the Creator. Through the effects of sin, our world has taken music and perverted it to exalt and glorify creation rather than the Creator. We have the privilege to use the gift of music for it’s original purpose and design; to exalt and lift up the name of Jesus. We strive to instill this truth with a multi-generational mindset. Beginning with preschoolers, through the elementary ages, on to involvement in our student choir ministry, and through adulthood, we want to instill a heart for true worship and worship leading.
Cherishing the old and embracing the new, our church’s worship is a blend of contemporary worship songs with traditional hymns in a dynamic style that reflects the hearts of the people of FBC.
Our team of instrumentalists, seek to use their gifts and talents to lead people in worship each and every week. Our regular group consists of acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, keys, piano, and drums/percussion. We also hope to expand our worship instrumentalists to include orchestral instruments in the near future! Our worship instrumentalists rehearse on Wednesday nights at 7pm.
Our Worship Choir assists in leading worship each week. This group also regularly shares specials with a desire to encourage our congregation through telling the story of the gospel. From the choir, those interested in taking another step in worship leadership are invited to sing on our Praise Team. This group of 4-6 vocalists at a time who lead on an "as-scheduled" basis in our weekly worship services. While Praise Team leadership is preceded by a meeting with our Minister of Music/Worship, our choir is open to any adult able to participate in rehearsals and services. Worship Choir rehearsal is on Sundays at 4:30 pm.
WorshipLife is a ministry for 1st - 6th graders intended to disciple children for a lifestyle of worship by giving them a biblical foundation of worship and equipping them to be leaders in the local church! They'll get hands-on experience and training through singing in the WorshipLife Choir and participating in tracks that will vary from movement, dance, and sign language to instruments and percussion (and many more to come). They will also be given multiple opportunities to lead our church on Sundays; as well join our other worship teams in multigenerational worship experiences including, in 2024, our annual Christmas Concert of Worship!
