FIRST KIDS is our ministry to children and their families. At FBC Searcy, your children are a top priority.
Through the Gospel Project, Awana, and our ALL NEW WorshipLife program, you can expect to watch your child grow in their faith and knowledge of our Lord and learn what worship and missions are all about. The entire Second Floor of our Children & Youth Building is dedicated specifically to our First Kids Children's Ministry. This page provides a glimpse of the ways your children can be involved at FBC Searcy.
Come grow with us at FBC Searcy. You will not be disappointed!

We believe that Sunday morning Life Groups are a vital part of ministry to children in today’s world. That is why we place a high priority on these classes. You will find a class for every age with carefully chosen curriculum to guide them into developing faith in God and increasing that faith as they grow older. Here are our current Children's Life Groups:
Using a curriculum from LifeWay Christian Resources. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades meet in individual classrooms while 5th & 6th graders are combined into our Preteen Class.
Acts 1:8 and Matthew 20:19-20 remind us that missions is a vital part of the Church. During Awana and Children's Life Groups, children are taught about missions activities and how missionaries around the United States and around the world are making an impact for Christ. Learning about missions activities around the world is an important part of raising the next generation of missionaries.
WorshipLife is a ministry for 1st - 6th graders intended to disciple children for a lifestyle of worship by giving them a biblical foundation of worship and equipping them to be leaders in the local church! They'll get hands-on experience and training through singing in the WorshipLife Choir and participating in tracks that will vary from movement, dance, and sign language to instruments and percussion (and many more to come). They will also be given multiple opportunities to lead our church on Sundays; as well join our other worship teams in multigenerational worship experiences including, in 2024, our annual Christmas Concert of Worship!

Awana is an acronym that stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” and is based on 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” This is a discipleship program for kids. It includes scripture memorization, Bible teaching, and fun games/recreation. Through Sparks (1st & 2nd graders), Truth & Training Ultimate Adventure (3rd & 4th graders), and Truth & Training Ultimate Challenge (5th & 6th graders), Awana is teaching kids more about God and how to have a relationship with Him.
Camp Excite is FBC Searcy's version of Vacation Bible School. It is open to children who have completed Grades K-6. At Camp Excite, kids will experience the Bible using curriculum from LifeWay Christian Resources. Each morning at Camp Excite, your children will learn and play in a fun and safe environment. Camp Excite 2024 is already over, but look for information next year about Camp Excite 2025.
Each summer brings a variety of fun activities and day trips designed specifically for children. Whether it’s a Cooking Class, a Lemonade Stand, Water Games, or a trip to the zoo, each summer is filled with fun. Activities and schedules will be available in May.
Kid's Camp is an opportunity for your children to get away to learn, worship, and have fun in an environment specifically focused on them. In the past, our Kids have gone to CentriKid and Camp Siloam. Check back in early 2025 to see plans for our next Kids Camp.
Joy Works is a worship arts camp for kids (grades 3-6) and takes place at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. Scheduled each July, this is a great opportunity for kids to learn about different aspects of worship.
